Solicitation Policy

Transition Careers has a no-solicitation policy covering all of our events. In order to provide a distraction-free environment for our exhibitors, sponsors, attendees and employees, we do not allow solicitation at our events by attendees or unauthorized parties without the express written permission of Transition Careers. This policy includes, but is not limited to the following unauthorized activities:

Prohibited activities:

  • Unauthorized employment/recruiting, placement/headhunter and staffing services towards exhibitors and attendees
  • Unauthorized promotion of non-Transition Careers events
  • Unauthorized on-site distribution of printed or electronic materials including literature, signs, flyers, invitations, tickets, forms, etc. (except business cards)
  • Unauthorized receptions & parties (including off-site events)
  • Unauthorized exhibits, mobile exhibits & hospitality suites
  • Unauthorized membership recruitment activities
  • Unwelcome advances toward event participants or the Transition Careers staff

Any person and/or organization found to be violating this policy may be expelled from the event. No refunds.

Exhibitors or sponsors found to be violating this policy agree to pay Transition Careers the equivalent fee stated in the event’s published rate schedule for exhibit space and/or sponsorships and may be expelled from the event. No refunds.

Egregious and/or multiple violations of this policy may result in disqualification from future events at the discretion of Transition Careers.

Privacy Policy

Personal Information:
You can view the TransitionCareers.com site without entering personal information. We collect personal information on our Web site from customers and potential partners. Once you choose to provide us personally identifiable information (PII) and personal financial information (PFI), you can be assured that it will only be used to support your customer relationship with Transition Careers. If we change the way we use your personally identifiable information, we will notify you by email and then wait for your consent.

Information collection and use:
We may collect nonpublic personal information about you (for instance, your name, telephone number, security clearance, social security number, federal identification number), from the following sources:
Information we receive from you on applications, forms and in other communications to us, whether in writing, in person, by telephone or any other means; Information about your transactions with us, or others; and Information we receive from a consumer reporting agency.

How we use this information:
We request information for our own legitimate business purposes and not for the benefit of any non-affiliated party. Therefore, we do not disclose any nonpublic personal information about our clients or former clients to anyone, except: (1) as necessary for us to provide the product or service you have requested of us; or (2) as permitted by law.

Exhibitors/Employers: When you register to exhibit at one of our events, the PII and PFI you provide us is used solely to process your registration for that event and, to notify you of future events that may be of interest to you. For those events in which TC is acting as a sub-contractor for the Government to supply on-line registration and fee collection services, the PII you provide on your registration form is forwarded to the managers of the event within the hosting agency.

Attendees/Job Seekers: When you register to attend one of our events the PII and PFI you provide is used solely to process your registration for that event. For those events in which TC is acting as a sub-contractor for the Government to supply on-line registration and fee collection services, the PII you provide on your registration form is forwarded to the managers of the event within the hosting agency. Your basic contact information is used by us to notify you of future events that may be of interest to you.

General resume database access guidelines:
Access is not knowingly given to any organization that works against the interests of the United States of America.
Access is limited to organizations and individuals registering for the stated purpose of recruiting potential future employees or providing career development services.

Liability for content and access to resumes:
We review all users before allowing access, and access is granted to organizations that have a valid interest in hiring applicants or providing career development services to job seekers from Transition Careers. Users may include government agencies, government contractors, military friendly employers, academia, the defense industry, and information sciences industry members. Access is not knowingly given to any organization that may have intentions other than offering employment, career development or that may be inappropriate viewers of your career info.

Transition Careers recognizes that some of the information contained in resumes of cleared professionals may be sensitive or contain potentially proprietary information. Transition Careers does not review and does not take responsibility for what is contained within resumes. Resume content is the liability of the resume writer.

How we use (and do not use) non-personally identifiable information:
We use non-personally identifiable information in aggregate form to build higher quality, more useful Services by performing statistical analyses of the collective characteristics and behavior of our visitors and members, and by measuring demographics and interests regarding specific areas of the Services. We may provide statistical information based on this data to advertisers, users, and other current and potential business partners. We may also use the aggregate data to inform these third parties as to the number of people who have seen and clicked through links to their sites.

How we use (and do not use) personally identifiable information:
We do not sell, re-sell or distribute for re-sale your personally identifiable information. Our customers may only use the information provided in resumes and profiles of job seekers to evaluate seekers’ qualifications for the customer’s open job opportunities or to provide career development services. Job seekers should be aware, however, that Transition Careers has no way to control how a customer actually uses the service and how they use the resume and profile information. If you believe a Transition Careers customer is using personally identifiable information inappropriately, please notify us at [email protected].

Please note that Transition Careers reserves the right to disclose information submitted by or concerning any visitor or member as we reasonably feel is necessary to protect our systems or business. We may also disclose your personally identifiable information as required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena or other legal process, when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request. We cooperate with law enforcement agencies in identifying those who may be using our servers or Services for illegal activities. We also reserve the right to report any suspected illegal activity to law enforcement for investigation or prosecution, or to suspend or terminate your membership in connection with any suspected illegal or infringing activity or if you are in violation of our Terms of Use Agreement or other published guidelines.

Third party services:
Transition Careers websites may contain hyperlinks to third party web sites and/or advertisements of third parties. TC is not responsible for the privacy practices of the content of such third party web sites or advertisers. TC does not share any of the individual personal information you provide with the third parties to which TC links, except general, aggregate data (such as how many people use our site). Please check with those web sites to determine their privacy policy.

Security:
Our Web site has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control. The security of your personally identifiable information is important to us. When you enter sensitive information (such as a credit card number) on our order forms, we encrypt the transmission of that information using secure socket layer technology (SSL).

Communication:
Email correspondence is used to raise and to respond to issues and inquiries of all types. Newsletters are sent to customers who subscribe to our mailing list and would like to stay up-to-date with the latest news, information and special reports about TC’s latest events and activities. Each email newsletter has instructions on how to unsubscribe. You may opt-out of receiving future mailings.
